Take the Wrong Way Home

Posted July 8th, 2011

I love a good travel story.  A couple of weeks ago, Hartmut and Martina showed up in Seattle, by way of Washington DC having taken a 7,000 mile detour on their motorbikes. They stayed in the apartment above my studio for a week or so. This was their last stop in the US.  Martina (seen here being “geskyped”) was heading back to Germany and Hartmut was packing his bike off to the far east and was taking a trip through all the “Stans” on his way home to Germany.  Our neighborhood was charmed by these two lovely travelers. I have been enjoying Hartmut’s Blog. He takes a good photograph…probably something to do with him being a cameraman.  A good travel story needs details of human endurance, so I particularly enjoyed the shot of Hartmut’s shrivelled digits after a long, wet ride. The blog is in German, but if you google it, you can get a transalation which is, on the whole, good and sometimes very funny.
